Acts Series part 8 – Outline
Evangelizing the World in a Generation! / Acts chapter 27 and28

Introduction:
In Acts 1:15: only 120 were faithful after Jesus ascended to heaven. However, in Acts 2:41, Peter preached and 3000 accepted the message and were added to their number in one day. Acts 2:47 tells us that God continued adding to their number daily those who were being saved, and by Acts 4:4, despite the Apostles being sent to prison for their teaching, the number of men grew to about 5000. Men were called higher by Jesus’ incredible challenge to change the world. Acts 5:14 states “…more and more men and women believed in the Lord and were added to their number“. In Acts 6:1 The number of disciples was increasing, and after the leaders correct some problems that were arising in the church, the number of disciples increased rapidly (Acts 6:7)! At this point, we really start to get a sense of movement; a spreading … like a fire!

Acts Series part 7 – Outline
Evangelizing the World in a Generation!

- The Book of Acts was called the Acts of the Apostles at the end of the 2nd Century by Iranius.
- I believe it can also be called the Acts of the Holy Spirit as it is God working through men so that His will can be done.

Acts Series part 6 – Outline
Turning the World Upside Down part 2 covering Acts chapters 18-21

In Part 1 we talked about some key principles that helped the first century disciples Turn the World Upside Down in their day and how we need to employ those same principles that we learn from Paul’s ministry today. (A) Paul wasn’t building autonomous churches but a movement of churches that were united and worked together to reach a lost planet. (B) Paul was building Pillar churches in order to reach the entire region. Paul would go to the major cities first then to the smaller cities and the countryside. {C} Paul was going after opinion leaders. Lydia was persuasive. There are opinion leaders in every segment of society. Gang leaders are opinion leaders. {D} As you preach, there will always be persecution and then usually you move on.
Last week we had 2 Points. 1: Uplifting Vision / 2: Side by Side Preaching.
Today we begin with point…

3. KNOCKED DOWN BUT NOT KNOCKED OUT!
- Chapter 18:1 / Claudius orders all Jews to leave Rome. Historians reported it was over an uproar about Christos! “All of you need to get out of here!”
- When bad happens do you see it as God guiding you?

1. Uplifting Vision: Acts 16: 1-10
2. Side by Side Preaching: Acts 16: 11 – End of 17

We ended the last lesson with the Jerusalem Council, the parting of Paul and Barnabas and the sad but heroic story of John Mark. In Acts 16, the time is now 49-50 AD as we begin the 2nd missionary journey. Paul has chosen Silas as his partner and he is about to meet a young man that is going to turn the world upside down!

Acts Series part 4 – Outline
Forcefully Advancing the Kingdom part 2, Acts 12-15

1. Zeal to Pray: Acts 12.1
- James is arrested and killed (the first apostle martyred).
- As a result, Herod becomes more popular than ever.
- Next, he arrests Peter with the intention of killing him.
- The church begins to earnestly pray for Peter’s release, even though it seemed impossible because God had not spared James.
- Peter is in between 2 soldiers and bound by 2 chains, and yet an Angel of God breaks him out of jail. When he realized that it was more than just a dream, he understood that God had rescued him from jail and certain death.
- He then went to John Mark’s mom’s house but they didn’t believe it could really be him, even though it was the very thing they were praying for.
- Sometimes it is only after God works that we see it, but when we see it, our faith grows.
