I’m Dreaming of a Light Christmas – Outline

What are godly Christmas dreams? The Christmas story inspires us because of the most powerful prophetic activities surrounding the coming of Jesus–the coming of God himself.

Prophesies about Jesus 750 years before his birth:
Isaiah 7:14 Virgin birth, God with us.
Isaiah 9:1 Mighty God. People in darkness see great light.

Luke 2 Jesus’ birth. Matthew 2:3 Jesus’ birth disturbed King Herod. To bring people into the light, you have to disturb darkness.

Matthew 2:4 Magi teach the Jews. Their gifts were prophetic: God for king, incense for divinity, myrrh for embalming (represent Jesus’ death).

Luke 1:26 Mary received blessing. Highly favored. v 37 Nothing is impossible with God. v 53 Filled the hungry, sentthe rich away empty. Mary had faith.

Luke 11:27 In reference to his mother, Jesus said “blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” This implies the opportunity of an equal or even greater blessing than the one received by Mary.

James 1 Deceived if hear word but don’t obey. Don’t be led by emotions. You’ll be inconsistent. Inconsistent people are led by emotions.

God works through dreams.
Matthew 1:20 and Matthew 2:13 Joseph’s dreams. Matthew 2 Magi’s dreams. Acts 2:17 Old men’s dreams. God’s kingdom has dreams. Don’t lose God’s dreams for his kingdom.

Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision the people perish.
Dream of a people all about the lordship of Jesus. Dream of a light Christmas.
