God Is Love – Outline
God’s love goes beyond our understanding. Let’s learn to embrace all aspects of it as we draw closer to our Lord and Savior.
-Ephesians 3:14-19 Paul’s prayer for the Ephesians. God’s love goes beyond our understanding.
1) God’s love for sinners.
-Acts 26:9-18 Paul had a horrible beginning to his spiritual life, persecuting Christians and kicking against the goads.
-Romans 5:6 In our culture, we think you have to do something good to get love. But God died for us while we were still sinners! God doesn’t love us because of the righteous things we do. He wants sinners to know that He loves them no matter what.
-Jesus didn’t love you because you got baptised. He loved you so you could get baptised. Baptism is the point we are saved. However, it’s not the point where the love began.
-Romans 2:4 God’s kindness leads us to repentance. If you have habitual sin, there is something about God’s kindness toward you that you don’t understand.
-Isaiah 40 God’s incredible love for us.
2) How much is God’s love worth to you?
-Acts 9:15-20 When you really love something, you will sacrifice for it. Paul learned to sacrifice for God.
-2 Corinthians 11:23-29 Take a look at the list of sacrifices Paul made for God.
-Romans 8:12-17 Share in the sufferings, share in the glory!
Challenge: 1 John 4:19-21 Go out and love people the way God loved us while we were still in our sin.

One Response to “God Is Love”
And then there is also the scriptural concept of Gods “conditional” love, as explained by Jesus, over and over in John 14 & 15,
John 14:15-16,21 (NIV)
“If you love me, you will obey what I command. [16] And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever— [21] Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him.”
