James Series part 6, Spiritual Maturity – Wisdom – Outline

#1 – WITH WISDOM COMES HUMILITY – James 3:13-18

Wisdom allows you to act more mature when you see trials. Trials are a test of faith, and with wisdom you can “see the way out” of the temptation (1 Cor 10:13)

Wikipedia definition of WISDOM: a) able to discern or judge what’s right; insight gained b) common sense or good judgment c) sum of learning through the generations d) wise outlook, plan, course of action e) biblical wisdom (proverbs)

Wisdom is practical knowledge that affects the way we live.

#2 – WISDOM FROM HELL – James 3:14-16

We have to unlearn the wisdom of the world! If you don’t want to be a part of the disorder of the world, you have to be and act different.

Even in the Kingdom Satan can get us with the wisdom from Hell. King David, the man after God’s own heart, fell into the sin of laziness, adultery, lying, and even murder.

Fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom.

#3 – WISDOM FROM HEAVEN – James 3:17-18

Christian journey starts from selfishness and goes to selflessness.

We need to live in peace (work things out with others). Be considerate (put ourselves in others’ shoes and walk with them). Submit (to one another). Full of mercy (forgiveness). Good fruit (shows in our life). Impartial (no favorites). Sincere (no mask to cover our motives).

2 Timothy 2 LORD’s servant must not quarrel.

Hebrews 5:11-14 Most people fall away because of how we share our resources (lack of sharing resources).

(Matt 18:15) When others hurt is we must STOP, DROP, and ROLL to the person who hurt us and deal with the issues.

WE NEED TO PRAY FOR WISDOM!
