Prayer Goals and Dreams – Outline
Today is a day to dream! Seven disciples share seven kingdom dreams. These are our prayer goals for 2010.
Goal #1, shared by Cornell Buckner:
To win as many as possible
Jeremiah 18:5 God has the power to mold you into whatever he wants. But you need a soft heart.
2 Timothy 2:20 Be an instrument for noble purposes.
1 Corinthians 9:19 To win as many as possible.
Goal #2, shared by Roger Parlour
To have a heart for the weak
Matthew 18:10-14 This is God’s heart–a heart to go after the weak. Spend time with those who are hurting. Listen and offer help. Love and don’t look down on the weak. Be a rescuer.
Goal #3, shared by Gabriel Fowler
To evangelize the region, being full of the Holy Spirit
Acts 13:3,9 Fasted and prayed, then sent out. God gave us a mission. Paul was full of the Holy Spirit. Be thinking, “Who can I help?”
Goal #4, shared by Jay Shelbrack:
For each region to raise up an evangelist, women’s counselor and shepherding couple
2 Timothy 2:2 Entrust God’s plan to faithful reliable men (and women). Have a heart to lead and learn. Being raised up will take energy, money and sacrifice.
(evangelization of Chicago and the Midwest)
Goal #5, shared by Maria Cortez:
Extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity
2 Corinthians 8:2 Be generous.
2 Corinthians 9:10 Giving: Treasure the souls of those who can be saved. Don’t treasure things of this world. Must have a heart of gratitude.
Goal #6, shared by Nikki DeBarras
To have a heart for the poor
Galatians 2:10 Remember the poor. Meet needs of the poor.
Romans 12:1 Mercy. Support the church plan to have a unified outreach to the poor through MERCY Worldwide.
Goal #7, shared by Brittany Parlour
For every member to get to the World Missions Jubilee in Los Angeles this summer
Nehemiah 4:20 God will fight for us, but work together. Plan, save and fundraise now to get to the Jubilee. It will take sacrifice, but it will be inspirational and worth it. Look forward to the coming together of God’s people.
