Pleased to Give You the Kingdom – Outline

Luke 12:32 – Where is your heart, your treasure this morning? The kingdom is a reason to not fear. The reason we are so up and down emotionally is because our joy is in stuff that comes and goes. Jesus said, just get rid of it and put your joy and security in God.

Luke 12:13-21 – sounds like the American Dream.

Matthew 13:44-45 – How is the kingdom like a field with buried treasure? Everyone would think you are nuts to buy it because they don’t know about the treasure. People in your life may only see the field. How is it like the pearl? It is more valuable than anything you have. When you understand the prize, what does the price matter? You can’t ever afford it – but Jesus paid the price. Satan wants us to think that the kingdom isn’t as valuable as other things in our life, but if we start thinking that way, we lose the kingdom.

Hebrews 10:32-34 – He was pleased to give you the kingdom, but what you do with it determines whether he is pleased with you. Sometimes it takes faith… it doesn’t always feel great.

KINGDOM – 3 Gifts in One
King: God is pleased to give you a king.
- Are you pleased to have one?
- Matthew 2:11-12 – Jesus. Wisemen knew Jesus was a king. Incense because he was God. Gold because he was a king. Myrrh (a burial spice) because he would die on the cross.

Law: The Word of God
- A king alone is nothing, even people together won’t remain that way for long without a standard.
- Hebrews 4:12-13 What would God’s kingdom look like without a standard… sadly like many churches today.
- Ephesians 6:17 We’re in a battle, w/out a sword we’re in trouble. Satan’s goal is to get the sword out of your hands.
- God is pleased to give you the Word as a standard

Subjects: People in the kingdom are loyal disciples
- those who follow and worship the king
- those not following the standard hurt the society and so they must be separated out for the protection of society (prison=hell)
- those that do the will of God are the family of God. (Mark 3:35)

What are your kingdom dreams? Without vision, the people perish. Without vision, you will perish!
