Disciples willing to sacrifice so other countries can hear the gospel–that’s the heart of Christ! Often when we surrender to what is right, it goes unsung. But we still need to surrender to God.

Mark 12:1-12 The Parable of the Tenants

Point 1: Surrender your identity
- God gives you life. So make great use of it. The reason why the tenants were unwilling to give up vineyard is likely because they loved their possessions. Focused on their power, not God’s power.
- Must have dependence on God.
- Don’t be like Scrooge, from a “Christmas Carol,” only focused on your tasks and your money. Focus on God.
- Same goes for ministry work. If you’re just focused on deeds and not loving God and people, it’s empty.
- What is your Identity. Do you have an ID of sin, or of righteousness. Don’t put on masks. Peel the layers away like an onion.

Point 2: Surrender your security

Mark 12:13-17 Paying Taxes to Caesar

- Don’t put your security in money. Are you confused about what belongs to God?
- In India, some people get beaten by family members when they become disciples. Disciples in India are making great sacrifices to be part of the church.
- Look at your life. Is it ripe with materialism? Are you being frugal so you can give to God what is his?
- Disciples must be sold-out for Christ–willing to do whatever it takes for God.
- Most Indians don’t live in the level of comfort that most Americans live in.
- What if you lost your job and home, would you still have your security in God? Would you still be fired-up for God?
- Would you be willing to surrender everything to the king of kings?
