Jesus Said Take My Yoke – Outline
Jeremiah 6:16
- only find rest when we so work for Jesus
- you need to want to change and be a worker for the Lord
- God has called us to be like the wind and move to where ever he wants and do whatever he wants
Q: Do we wanna change for good or go backwards??
Hebrews 10
- shrink back and be destroyed, or be saved
- God needs all of our efforts. We can’t depend on someone else to do it all.
Matthew 11:28
- nobody sacraficed more than Jesus
- yoke is a symbol of hardwork and obedience
-you’ll do whatever you have to do for God.
Psalm 127:1
- Your rest will be more peaceful when you work for the Lord.
- the real world is Bible study and prayer life
Isaiah 30:15
- God’s word is truth–anything else is a lie
Q: what discourages you?
CHALLENGE: go change
- We all have things that wear us down but that’s what Satan’s looking for.
- if Jesus didn’t give up, you have NO reason to.
- God doesn’t quit on US!
- everyone sins, the difference is we are trying to repent. Seeing peoples’ sin isn’t an excuse to leave
Deuteronomy 28:64
- you are gonna have to serve somebody. If not God, it’s probably going to be yourself
- the issue is you
- God needs women who are going to change and be useful to him.
- we have got to keep changing
- you can’t help people unless you change!
Haggai 1:5-7
- God wants to bless you but he wants you to put him first
- You’re here for a reason! You make a difference
1 Thessalonians 5
- some are weak and need help
- anyone can change but were not here to play church
- we HAVE to be honest
1 Corinthians 10:13
- no temptation seized you except that which is not common to man
- This is God’s church. We will let men lead but we will not be passive.
