Ever Increasing Glory: A Worship Workshop – Outline
2 Corinthians 3:12-18
-God has not only put his Spirit inside us, but has also pulled us together to reveal God’s glory.
How bold is your singing?
-When you worship God individually and collectively, you experience God’s every-increasing glory.
-Prepare your heart before church.
1. Acknowledge God’s glory
Proverbs 3:5-6
-Lean on God, not your own understanding.
Romans 11:32-36
A. Have a connecting time with God
-Your worship can’t change until you change your time with God
-What are you grateful for?
-What do you desire to do this day?
-It’s an adventure!
B. Pray for our hearts to worship sincerely
-Pray with your spouse, roommate, kids for God to prepare you to meet Him in his very presence.
-The only reason we come together is to lift God up!
-Know what you’re singing– the words, the meaning
-Sing in your quiet times, on your way to church, etc.
Philippians 4:4
-The first six inches of a rocket ship taking off take the most energy of the whole trip!
-Have great quiet times in the morning, prepare– it’s the most important!
-Do not be ready to take energy from the worship service, be ready to give energy.
2. Confess God’s Glory
Romans 11:36
-Confessing sin will lead to healing (James 5:16)
-Resolve conflict
-Be early to church
-Ask one another in fellowship: Is your heart ready to worship God?
-Lack of planning does not justify your fellowship during songs! (Disrespecting song leader and God)
3. Transformed by God’s glory
Romans 12:1-2 our lives are our songs to God
-Repentance honors the cross!
-When the song leader starts, so do you.
-Know what song you’re singing and who you’re singing to (to God, to each other, to your soul)
1 Corinthians 14:24-26
Ephesians 5:19
