Mark Series, part 15 – He Has Done Everything Well – Outline
Matthew 1:21 teaches us that Jesus will save his people from their sins. We are not God in the flesh and so we are going to mess up. The closer you look at anyone the more unimpressed you are and the more flaws you see, but the closer you look at Jesus the more impressed you are.
- To be a good mom, you have to do alot of things well.
- To graduate, you have to do alot of things well.
Jesus calls us to teach others to obey all He commanded us. We can’t point to one area that’s going well and then make an excuse that we don’t have to strive to do well in other areas. We are not perfect, but we must strive to be obedient / make Jesus “Lord” in all areas of our life.
Mark 8:11-21 teaches us that the religious leaders wanted a sign of Jesus’ authority even though He had already done so many miracles that proved who He was.
- Some say that He didn’t give them a sign because their request came from unbelief.
- Jesus warns about the yeast of the Pharisees. Claiming to be Godly and yet having no faith.
- When the faith goes, the grumbling begins.
- We are in the business of believing and when we stop believing, we can destroy other people’s faith as well.
- One sign of faithlessnes is having in mind the things of man and not the things of God.
When I think of someone who cares, provides, pleads, heals, warns, has hard talks and lays down their life, I think of my mom. What better day to talk about sacrifice than on Mother’s Day?
