Dia del Amigo – Outline

Latin Ministry Celebrates Marriage of Oscar and Laura
This service is in Spanish with English translation.
Chris and Theresa Broom welcomed the church with good news about the recent wedding of Oscar and Laura–our first Latino marriage service in the church.
“Endless Love,” a song about the never ending love of God, was sung by Betty Garcia in Spanish.
Juan Carlos Garcia preached the message: The One that Doesn’t Serve Is Worthless
- Talk about the hidden things of the heart.
John 13
- Jesus washes disciples’ feet.
- Peter doesn’t want to go along with the plan at first.
- Why do you serve? Are you waiting for something in return?
- Have humility–be an example. Love and serve every day. Make people see that we are different.
Matthew 5:13
- We are the salt of the earth (spice and preservative). Imagine food without salt–horrible. Imagine the world without disciples–horrible.
“…But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.”
Acts 20:34
- Work hard. Be committed. What kind of example are you when your job (or school) is more important than God and his church?
1 Timothy 4:12
- Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young. Strive to be mature as a Christian. Don’t be like the world. Our example will either bring people to church or drive them away.
- How will you bring people to God if you are a hypocrite?
Titus 2:1-5
- Instructions for the church. Are you teaching God’s ways? We have to be an example outside the church and inside. If you’re not glued to the Bible, you will not last. Repent.
1 Timothy 1:12-14
- Remember what sin God has called you out of. By mercy God gave us his son. Sitting down and just listening to the message will not change the world. What you do when the message is over can change the world.
1 Peter 4:1
- If you don’t stop doing what you used to do in the world, you will
- Discipleship is not a checklist. It’s a lifestyle. Can your coworkers or classmates say about you that you are the salt of this place?
- Do non-Christians fear God more than you?
1 Corinthians 10:13
- God will always give you a way out.
Philippians 3:13
- If you are not following God, destruction is clear. Don’t use God as a temporary resource–only in tough times. Some people will come and go. That’s sad. But there are many others that want to commit to God for a lifetime.
John 13:17
- You’ll be blessed if you put this into practice. Be the salt of the earth.
