The weekend of January 23-25, 2009, my wife Theresa and I were able to attend the first official gathering of the Central Leadership of the International Christian Churches in Los Angeles, California (see article here). It was an incredible weekend in which we were able to spend time with some of our best friends in the world. Church leaders in attendance were Kip and Elena McKean (City of Angels Church in Los Angeles), Andrew and Patrique Smellie (Washington DC), DJ and Kacie Comisford (New York City), Matt and Helen Sullivan (Santiago, Chili), as well as Tony and Therese Untalon and Nick and Denise Bordieri (Shepherding Couples in the City of Angels Church). The weekend was incredibly helpful and faith building and I returned to Chicago with a goal to lead a harvest campaign that would end up being the Biggest Single-Month Harvest Ever!

In 1994, in New York City, I was leading a sector of about 100 disciples and we had a harvest month for the entire church where our group led the way and baptized 12 people into Christ in that one month! I prayed to God that now, with the church in Chicago being about 100 disciples, we could do even more in February (the shortest month of the year)! When all was said and done, from February 1 to March 1, ten people were baptized, one was restored and one placed membership… that’s 12 that God added to our number! Even though we didn’t beat the 1994 mark, we thank God for every soul added, and we rejoice as the ten baptisms were twice as many as we have had in any previous month in the Chicago ICC (the Biggest Single-Month Harvest of our young church)!

Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should. – Ephesians 6:19-20
And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. – Colossians 4:3-6

The momentum is building, and we have already seen three baptized in March with many more studying the bible and expressing their desire to be baptized! Pray for us to preach the word clearly (Colossians 4:4) and fearlessly (Ephesians 6:20), as we should!
