Mark Series part 5, The Power of Jesus – Outline

Mark 4:35-41

1. If Jesus is in the Boat, the Boat is gonna Float!

• The disciples are afraid for their lives.
• Fear makes you do and say some crazy things. “Don’t you care if we drown?”
• Jesus quiets the storm and they are ok.

Mark 5:1-20

2. When Evil is Kicken’ Your Behind, Jesus will put you in your Right MInd!

• This man comes from the tombs who strikes fear in everyone else.
• The man with the evil spirit is afraid of Jesus and bows before HIm.
• We don’t have enough fear of God.
• We are so full of ourselves and we don’t have reverence before God.
• We still celebrate Jesus’ birthday, and He’s been gone from earth for 2000 years.
• We set our entire calendar by HIs birth.
• That’s the Power of Jesus.
• How is the Power of Jesus displayed in your life?
• Phil. 2: Recipe for Joy! (Jesus first, Others next and Yourself last.)
• How is that recipe working in your toughest relationships? … in your most important relationships?
• Let’s be honest about our own “evil spirits.”
• How do we feel about the fact that Jesus allowed the legion of demons to go into the pigs, yet said no to the newly healed man when he asked to go with HIm.
• Some people are so aftaid of change that they would rather Jesus and HIs disciples just leave!
• When Jesus’ answer to your prayer is no, do we trust that God knows best?
• Next time, we will finish Mark chapter 5 and talk more about the Power of Faith!
• Let’s all go home and tell our Families how much Jesus has done for us, and how much mercy He has had on us!
• I remember who I was before Jesus was Lord of my life, and I am so thankful for all He has done!
• Let’s pray to be like Jesus over the holidays as Satan is bound to come after us and try to cover up the Power of Jesus in our lives.
• And let’s pray that they are all amazed by the Power of Jesus!
