Relationships that Will Save the World

Last Sunday, we at the Chicago International Christian Church celebrated our 2 year anniversary! God blessed us with our best attendance ever as 243 people saw the Kingdom of God that day! Today I had the great fortune of being with the Central New York Church of Christ as they celebrated their fifteenth anniversary. Anniversaries are very special because they mark an amount of time that you have spent together. This December will mark fourteen years that Theresa and I have been married. It is always moving to think back over all the memories we’ve shared and all the lessons we’ve learned. It is so important, in our families, to take lots of pictures and journal key events so that we don’t forget those precious memories. It is equally important in the church. If we don’t, it is so easy to forget what God has done. And when we forget what God has done, we tend to forget what God is doing!

Al Rojo Vivo

1 Pedro 2:4-5

La escritura dice que Jesús es una piedra viva, cristo es un carbón encendido y nosotros somos carbones que se encienden cuando estamos cerca de Jesús, cuando nos acercamos a el, estamos vivos. Podemos transmitir esa luz, esa fuerza, esa esperanza a las demás personas. Con estas piedras vivas estamos edificando una casa espiritual y tú eres parte de esta casa espiritual.

Y esta casa espiritual se compone de piedras vivas que le dan vida a otras piedras apagadas. Cuando tu tienes un anafre con carbón y todos los carbones están mojados, si tu le hechas un carbón seco y tratas de prenderlo, quizás prenda un poco, pero se va a apagar enseguida. Pero si tu tienes una pila de carbón encendida y en fuego y acercas un carbón mojado se va a terminar encendiendo.

Esta casa de piedras vivas tiene que representar la imagen misma de Dios.
¿Y cual es la imagen de Dios?

People in our world don’t know where to look for love. But looking for love, people too often find depression, isolation and other troubles. People get polluted by the world every day since they don’t know how to find God and his love. If you want true love, let Christ prove you wrong. Change your thinking to align with what God says.

Orlando International Christian Church Inaugural Service

The Truth Will Set You Free - Outline

Theresa and I traveled to Orlando this past week to be a part of the inaugural service of the Orlando International Christian Church. I have personally known Anthony and Elizabeth Eckels, the leaders of the Orlando Church, since 1990 when Anthony and I were baptized in the Performing Arts Ministry of the New York City Church. Anthony and Elizabeth recently moved to Orlando to start the church there and were having 20 at church with just the two of them. Since then, Colleen Parramoure placed membership, Lisa Robillard was restored and just two weeks ago, Gigi French, a business owner, was baptized. On Sunday, those 5 disciples had 54 at their inaugural service and grew from 5 to 9 as Jim and Deana Blowe placed membership from Phoenix and Ray Cholod and Rob Deckard were both restored to their relationship with God.

Un súper héroe moderno

John Hancock era un tipo que tenia súper poderes podía volar, súper fuerza, como un superhéroe. Desgraciadamente tenia algo que muchos tenemos sin ser súper héroes, un mal corazón. Él ayudaba a su manera a guardar el orden, pero cada que ayudaba hacia mas mal que bien. Se la pasaba borracho, robando comida, haciendo nada y aunque él era súper héroe nadie lo podía detener, y el trataba entender por que estaba en este mundo, no sabia quien era, ni porque estaba ahí.

Muchos de nosotros vivimos vidas sin sentido no tenemos propósito en nuestras vidas, vivimos un día igual que el siguiente, amanece, nos levantamos, vamos al trabajo, regresamos, a lo mejor tenemos dos trabajos, regresamos dormimos y al día siguiente es lo mismo.

Por mas que trabajas no te alcanza y por mas que te preocupas no se soluciona nada.

Y nos preguntamos ¿que es lo que hago aquí? ¿Cuál es el propósito de mi vida?
