The Saga of the Gibeonites - Outline

Are you on a mission from God? This is a study of Joshua and the Gibeonites. He was on a mission from God.
Joshua starts with Moses’ death. Joshua is to carry on God’s mission.

Joshua 9

Point 1) Errors with no prayers
- Israelites did not inquire of God and made an ungodly treaty with Gibeonites. All of God’s people were deceived. To overcome deceit, pray.

Point 2) Spoken word not disturb
- Keep your word.
2 Corinthians 1:16-20 Your yes means yes. This is like God.

Luke 5:27 Calling of Matthew
- Jesus calls sinners to repentance. The path to healing is repentance. Just because you’ve been deceived, it doesn’t give you a right to be bitter. Repent. Israelites were deceived too by Gibeonites. Don’t be bitter. Until you repent, there will not be biblical healing.

2 Samuel 21
Later the Gibeonites are avenged. Sin must be dealt with. After that, God answered prayer in behalf of the land.

Point 3) Hail stones or hail Jehovah

Joshua 10
Joshua defends the Gibeonites. God hurls large hailstones at the enemy. Kills many. If hailstones land near you, what is God trying to tell you? Respond with repentance and faith when there is “a disturbance in the force.”
There are only two people on battlefield: those under hailstones and those that hail Jehovah. Have prayers that dare.
