History Of World Evangelism In Our Generation: A Greater Glory - Outline
Kip McKean preaches on how to be part of God’s greater glory in our time and gives a personal account of some of the history behind what God has done in the past within his movement. This is church history unplugged.
If we want to learn how to evangelize the world in our day, we need to see how Jesus evangelized in his day.
Acts 1
Jesus spoke about kingdom of God.
Commanded to preach to all nations (ends of the world).
Colossians 1:6 All over world gospel bearing fruit
Colossians 1:23 Gospel heard worldwide
2 Chronicles 36:15
Written 606 BC
The kingdom was divided and later a remnant in Judah was taken into captivity. God handed them over due to sin (v. 17).
Nehemiah 1:8
God scatters and God gathers.
Jeremiah 29:10 Promise great plans and return from exile. It was discipline: to seek God with all of your heart. That’s being sold-out.
God doesn’t want the movement idolized. God must be worshiped.
Ezra 1 Cyrus king of Persia 536 BC
Exactly 70 years after exile, God puts in heart of Cyrus the pronouncement for Jews to return to Israel. God moves in the hearts of the people.
God proves and God moves. A movement of God is people moving to God and for God. God commands us to evangelize the city and the world. It’s an issue of proclamation.
Acts 13:36 Fulfill God’s purpose in your generation, like David.
Ezra 3:8 Rebuilding house of the Lord. Great joy and weeping when the new temple foundation was laid. There was opposition to the building.
Haggai 1:1-5
God measures our treasure.
Don’t build your own house while ignoring God’s house.
Haggai 2
Speak to remnant. New temple wasn’t as impressive. But be strong. The desired of the nations are coming. Greater glory is coming. This is a prophecy of Christianity. Today we are called to be God’s temple… a part of God’s greater glory. Now it’s time to build again.
