Building the Kingdom of God - Outline

Kip McKean preaches on building the kingdom of God at a leaders meeting of the Chicago International Christian Church. Take a look at what it’s going to take to be a leader in God’s movement.

Matthew 7:24-25 Wise and Foolish Builders
Build on the rock. The winds and storms come whether you are a disciple or not. But if you build on the rock (Jesus’ words), then you will stand.

Sand Castles will was away. Don’t build on sand.

Revelation 3
Jesus is outside of a lukewarm church. He’s separated from them by a door.

Luke 6:46-49
If you are going to withstand the challenges, you have to dig down deep. Dig deep to build high.

Sand on the Seashore

Genesis 22:1-17 Abraham and Isaac
Descendants numerous as sand on seashore.

God wants a kingdom as vast as seashore.

1 Timothy 2:1-8
Paul points Timothy back to God. Pray for world leaders. God wants all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. In order to understand, people have to be taught worldwide. This is a global movement.

1 Timothy 3 Song of Jesus preached to all nations.

2 Timothy 4:16-17
Have vision for gentiles around the world to be saved.

Mark 1:16 Fisher of men. If people aren’t fishing for men, are they disciples?

John 3:22 Jesus didn’t just hang out with his disciples. He baptized with his disciples.

John 4 Jesus’ disciples were fruitful. This is also the pattern of Paul.

Acts 18:8
All heard the word of the Lord. Evangelized daily. Nameless disciples were fruitful.

There is a false teaching going around that the world can’t be evangelized in our generation.

2 Timothy 1:4
False teachers are many. Preach the word in the face of this opposition. Every person must be totally committed. Jesus’ way: one by one, each member make disciples. They work in small groups. They had daily contact. If you want people to be drawn to you, your light must be bright. Be baptizing. Then people will be drawn to you.

The Sands of Time

Your life is ticking away the sands of time. Decide if your life will have impact.
2 Corinthians 6:1-10
Disciples are God’s fellow workers. The time is now. Be urgent about your ministry. It takes hard work (verse 5). Let’s work hard.
