Is There A Doctor In The House? - Outline
When you need help, there better be someone in the house qualified to give it. That’s Jesus.. and it could be you too.
Luke 5:27-32 Levi the tax collector
- The sick and the sinners need help.
- That’s who Jesus comes for. That’s you.
- Levi gave up everything.
Luke 3:7-8
- To get well, you have to admit your sick, go to doctor, get properly diagnosed, and follow doctor’s instructions.
- John the Baptist is a spiritual doctor
- The diagnosis is, we’re all sinners.
- The treatment is, repent and be baptized.
Acts 3:12-26
- Peter and John are spiritual doctors.
- Complete healing only comes through Jesus.
- Christ’s crucifixion must impact you.
1 Thessalonians 5:12-15
- Do you know how to heal people? In the church, is there a doctor in the house? In a healthy church, every member should be a spiritual doctor.
- A doctor must have good bedside manner: kindness and patience, but also truth.
- “…warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone.”
- A doctor must make the proper diagnosis.
- Hold the hard workers in highest regard with respect.
Proverbs 17:22
- A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
- Proverbs 15:30 and Proverbs 15:13 Cheerfulness comes from a happy heart. Get open about where you are at so you can get diagnosed, get healing and help others.
