Church Growth, part 1: Work Produced by Faith - Outline
Jesus’ plan for the church is that every member spreads the gospel so that the word of God goes out to the ends of the earth. This takes faith to apply in our own generation, and our own personal ministry. Where are you in God’s plan to have a global impact for his glory?
- Jesus preached about world evangalism
Acts 2:41; 47; 4:4; 5:14; 6:1; 8:4; 11:21; 24; 12:24; 13:49; 14:1; 21; 16:5; 17:6-7
- Numbers were added daily
- “Your city is as open as your mouth is”
- the world was evangalized in the 1st Century
- do we believe it can be evangalized in the 21st Century?
- why do we not see the growth as in the 1st Century?
- because a few go to a church full of people on fire for God
- we don’t see it because we have little faith
- we have to be committed to become less so that more can come to know God
- you know someone is of God when they talk the talk and walk the walk
3 ingredients to achieve our ultimate purpose (world evangalism)
1: work
2: labor
3: endurance
POINT 1 FAITH IN GOD
- blueprint of building a church
- Jethro’s advice to Moses was to share the work
- the church will never grow beyond the spirituality of the leader
- faith in God is what God’s word says
POINT 2 FAITH IN YOURSELF
- we think we are not competent to win souls
- God has made us competent to do this (through Him)
- “As a man thinketh, do he does”
POINT 3 INSTILL FAITH IN OUR FAMILIES
- God is missing in the world today and we have got him
- we have got to evangalize!!
