The Unsearchable Riches of Christ, part 1 – Outline
Paul mentions “the unsearchable riches of Christ” in Ephesians 3. This sermon sheds light on what that is all about… well, not “all about” because the riches are unsearchable. But these riches most certainly can be appreciated and involve God’s grace. You too can share in those unsearchable riches.
Ephesians 3:7-13
- Grace by God’s power
- Preach the unsearchable riches of Christ
- Make plain God’s administration
- God changes the world through people
- Sharing your faith is extending God’s grace.
- Ephesus, a coastal center for trade, became a center for training in the gospel.
- As a servant of the gospel, you need to share the unsearchable riches of Christ.
Ephesians 1:3-14
- God’s rich grace is lavished upon us.
- Redemption is what made Jesus’ crucifixion unique. He died for your sin.
- God’s plan is for you to be brought together with him and other believers. God breaks down barriers.
- The church must reflect the manifold wisdom of God.
Ephesians 2:1-22
- When you live out the Bible, God gives you wisdom.
- Outside of Christ, you are an object of wrath, because of your sin. The world is a mess. So get in Christ.
- Are you ready to bow your knee to God? Not just once, but every day.
- There is no social program or academic institution that will address our spiritual needs like the church of Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 3:1-12
- Don’t lose your understanding of the grace, purpose and high goals of God for his church.
- We have the cure for this world. But to be a part of this, you need to be totally committed to the cause of Jesus Christ. That means giving up everything for God.
- Our goal is not to simply make your day, but to join Jesus Christ in a resurrected life.
- Are you excellent at giving grace? Jesus is excellent at giving grace. Imitate the resurrected Christ and ask yourself, “Where is your treasure?”
Theresa Broom shares about the resurrected Christ and living a resurrected life.
- In the Bible Jesus appeared to the women first. And the women were entrusted to tell the men. The women were part of changing the world.
- Today, the women in the church living a resurrected life are changing the world, as we call more people to Jesus and share the unsearchable riches of Christ.
