Who do you say Jesus is? Matthew 16:13-19

- Jesus asks, “Who is the Son of Man?”
- Some thought John the Baptist was Jesus (radical/powerful)

- Kingdom of God is compared to the Kingdom of Camelot
- Kingdom dating is compared to Worldly dating

- Some thought it was Elijah (prophet)
- who ascended to Heaven in a chariot of fire!

1 Kings 18:21

- How long will you waiver?

Romans 10:1-4; 9-11; 14-17

- the only way to be saved is to hear the truth
- but not all will accept the truth

Matthew 16:16

- Simon Peter had it right on - Jesus is the Christ
- when you believe that, it changes everything!
- rock = Jesus, not Peter
- Peter = petros = little rock/pebble
- Rock = petra = bedrock/boulder

1 Corinthians 3:11

- no other foundation is laid but Jesus Christ

John 7:16-17

- if you are not sure if Jesus is the son of God, then practice his teaching in your life and you will know!!
- Church = God’s people
- church is a group of people called together for a common purpose

CHALLENGE:

- stand on the rock (Jesus), make him lord of our lives, call someone to do the same, and then Jesus can take and use us to build his church
