Love and Purpose - Outline
Chicago International Christian Church Campus Teen Service
Not all of America’s teen and campus students are living to please themselves or looking for sex, drugs and violence. Hear from some of our faithful youth as they share about the love and purpose that God calls us to.

Prepare to be inspired by how God is moving in the hearts of our campus and teen students. Before the sermon, Greg Biggs and Brittany Parlour share on what the cross means to them personally.

2 Corinthians 5:14-21
- Being reconciled to God means being spared from an empty life of sin.
- Most teens in school are not following God. The cross changes the lives of those who respond to Jesus.
- The cross allows us to choose the path of love over lust. In Romans 16:19 we are to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil.

Anthony Franklin preaches.

Romans 8:28
- God works for the good of those who do two things: love him and are called according to his purpose.

Love is forgiveness

1 John 2:9
- If you don’t love others and treat them as precious, then you are in the darkness.

1 Peter 4:8
- If you really love someone, their sin won’t tick you off.
- People are looking for unconditional love.

1 John 4:7:12
- Love is not always reciprocal. God loves us before we ever even knew about him. Jesus was hated and he still gave his whole heart. Is that how you are, or do you hold back love?

Luke 6:32 Love for Enemies
- Have a heart for giving and not expect anything back.

1 John 3:16-20
- Love is an action. It is more than a feeling. How much of your love is really action? If you really love, go share your faith. If you don’t love with action, your Christianity is false.

John 10:17-18
- Lay down your life for God. That is what Jesus did.

1 John 5:1-4
- Love is to obey God’s commands.

Psalm 119:14-16
- The commands of God are only burdensome when you don’t have a deep relationship with God.

Matthew 28:19-20
- When we don’t have discipling, God’s commands seem burdensome.

John 15:9-14
Obey God = love.

Joel Parlour preaches.

Romans 8:28
- We have been called to a purpose.
- We have been called to righteousness, a relationship with God and a revolution.

1 Peter 2:20-24
- God commends those who suffer for doing good.
- If Christianity is easy for you, then you are missing something.

Philippians 2:12-18 Shine Like Stars
- Learn to obey even when times are hard. If someone is calling you to God’s standards, listen to them.
- We are called to be blameless and pure. So hold out the word of life. Learn to sacrifice. God gave you a greater purpose than your job or school. When you see people in the world, be concerned for their soul. Hold out the Bible and share it with them.

Ephesians 1:3-10
- Submit to God and his purpose. He wants to adopt you into his family.
- Help others to know their true purpose. Our purpose is not a mystery. Find your purpose in God’s word and share it.

Romans 8:29-39
- We are more than conquerors. God has called us to a revolution. Join it.
