A Moment that Changed Everything – Outline

Luke 2:8-11
- Shepherds were afraid. Do not be afraid. Savior born. What is Christmas all about? Do you really believe that an angel appeared to a teenage girl and as a virgin she gave birth to the savior? That is what Christmas is all about: a moment that changed everything.

Luke 1:26-37
- Mary was afraid at first. But angel encouraged her.
- Nothing is impossible with God.
- Mary couldn’t understand it at first. What is your reason for doubting? Don’t doubt when faced with doing what God said.
- We need a savior.
- Mary, a teenage girl, was one of the first to accept Jesus on his terms.
- Don’t become bitter when difficult moments occur.
- We celebrate that Jesus grew and died on cross and rose for us.

2 Corinthians 1:8-10
- Paul felt this way about Christian life: hardships beyond endurance
- Happened so we rely on God, not self.
- What in our life can God NOT rescue us from?
- Why would you rely on yourself? Can you raise the dead? God can. Rely on God.
- The moments that change everything now come from disciples today sharing their faith, and people making decisions to follow Jesus.
- Don’t worry about what people will think.
- The ultimate moment that changed everything is when Jesus, who was physically dead, rose from the dead. Share that moment with others.
- God has entrusted the plan of salvation to a young women (Mary).
- God can use you too for a moment that will change everything for yourself (to become a Christian) or for someone else (to help them become a Christian).
