Heaven on Earth - Outline

Philippians 1:21-23
- Do you fear death?
- To die now would be gain (because you’ll be with Jesus in heaven)
- Can you say this is your life?
- If you can’t say that, then you’re not confident in salvation

Matthew 6:19-21
- Don’t put treasures in earthly things.
- Put trust in God

Philippians 1:24-26
- Paul stays to help the church
- All that matters is this: are you going to heaven?

Matthew 6:25-33
- “Do not worry.”
- Hard command, since worrying is common
- Do you believe God knows your troubles, that he has you in his hands?
- The issue is our faith in our God.
- Seek first God’s kingdom.
- Seek first God’s righteousness.
- How much worrying have you done in the past month?
- The birds have bird brains yet they trust God. We think and feel too much and forget to trust God.

Matthew 12:46-50
- Jesus’ mother and brothers
- Whoever does God’s will is Jesus’ family
- Devoted relationships
- Must decide to not be hypocrites.
- How will we do this?
- Love & communication
- There’s no Lone Ranger Christian.
- To meet each other’s needs you have to know what each other likes.

Mark 9:43-49
- Cut off sin (eye, hand, foot)
- Must be radical about your own sin.
- Are you ready to lay your life down?
- Lay down your time. Talk about your schedule.
- Make decisions after you hear the scriptures.
- Not here for spiritual entertainment

Are you making decisions such as to…
- Confess sin daily?
- If married, be a great spouse?
- Be in fruitful labor?

What decisions are you going to make?

- Jesus would rather die for you than live without you.
- When we imitate him, it’s heaven on earth.
